Anton Powers, a DJ and producer for UTV Radio's Juice FM has won the "DJ Of The Year 2009" award by The Liverpool ECHO regional newspaper.
Anton, also known as his chart hit alter-ego "Cahill", scooped the capital of culture award beating a host of other club and radio DJ’s from the north west dance floors.
Journalist Emma Johnson of The Liverpool ECHO said: “With a massive chart hit to his name as Cahill, three successful weekly radio shows, not one but two appearances at Creamfields and a recommendation by Radio 1 – the award had to go to Juice FM star – Anton Powers. Expect even bigger things from Anton in 2009.”
Anton said: "It's been a fantastic year for me, and I want to thank everyone that has supported and followed me. It's awesome to be recognised in your home city and in capital of culture year. And of course thanks to Emma Johnson and all at the Liverpool Echo for this tremendous accolade!"
