BBC Cambridgeshire: you’re fired!

Students from Cambridge Radio College's Radio Broadcast & Journalism course will be taking part in an Apprentice style feature this week on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. Five students will be assigned tasks on the Jeremy Sallis breakfast show.

The tasks will need to be completed in time for broadcast the following morning. They’ll then be judged by a variety of broadcasting professionals who will then fire one of the students after each task – leaving just one winner at the end of the week.
Radio lecturer Phil Pethybridge said: "We spend a lot of time training the students in producing high quality content to tight deadlines and simulating the experiences they would deal with in the workplace. All our students go into the broadcast industry or directly onto University where they play major roles in their respective student radio stations and these skills allow them to meet those demands."
