Byrne expands to Yorkshire

Made in Manchester Creative Director Ashley Byrne has announced plans for a second independent production company, Made in Yorkshire.

The announcement was made at the Radio Production in the North Networking Conference event which took place at Salford Quays in Manchester, the future home of Media City UK.
The company is the brainchild of Byrne and former Leeds international swimmer James Hickman. It forms the second branch of the Made in Group which started over the Pennines four years ago with Made in Manchester (MIM) which specialises in radio/TV production, PR and Marketing.
They make documentaries for BBC National Radio including Radio 2 and the speech networks, BBC Radio 4 and 5Live. MIM has also produced for ITV1 and BBC World Service.
Ashley Byrne says: “We’re delighted we can announce the formation of Made inYorkshire. I was born and grew up in South and West Yorkshire while James represented Leeds onthe international sporting stage for many years.
“We’ve nurtured and utilised the talents of people in the North West through Made in Manchesterand we’ll be looking to do the same in Yorkshire,” says Chief Executive James Hickman.
