Global readies for redundancy

Global Radio is restructuring its 160-strong London-based commercial team, resulting in about fifteen redundancies. The cuts follow a three-month review of Global's commercial operation by Mike Gordon, Global Radio's group commercial director.

The restructure and redundancies across Global Radio Sales were announced by Gordon to staff last week. Staff in the affected areas were told to prepare for three days of redundancy consultation interviews this week.
A Global Radio spokesman said: "As a result of a three-month long review by group commercial director Mike Gordon, there will be a number of redundancies as part of a commercial operation restructure, which will be unveiled shortly."
This third spate of Global Radio redundancies comes eight months after a major company-wide cull, when at least 160 jobs were axed across the whole business last July. About 40 jobs were cut from Global's 112-strong digital teams in January.
