Bauer appoints MD for Scotland

Bauer Media today announced the appointment of Graham Bryce as MD Radio, Scotland. Graham will take up this newly-created role on 8th June reporting directly to Dee Ford, Group MD Radio, Bauer Media.

Across Scotland, 1.7million people listen to one of Bauer Media’s eight radio stations – Radios Clyde, West Sound, South West Sound, Forth, Borders, Northsound, MFR and Tay.
Graham currently Strategy and Operations Director at media group Communicorp, based in Dublin.
Bryce said: “Having spent 15 years working within radio in England, Ireland and continental Europe, I am delighted to be returning home as MD Radio, Scotland for Bauer Media.”
Dee Ford, Group MD Radio, Bauer Media, said: “I am delighted that we have attracted Graham back to his Scottish roots, in this newly created role of MD Radio, Scotland. His proven leadership and operational experience within high growth media businesses will be critical in these challenging times as we seek to step change the business.
"As a result of this appointment, I am sorry to announce that Paul Cooney, Regional MD, Central Scotland, will be leaving the business at the end of June. Paul has been at Bauer for 14 years and he has made a huge contribution to our Scottish business."
Paul Cooney responded: “While I’m clearly disappointed, I fully support the creation of the MD Radio, Scotland role and feel it is a very positive step to have an MD for Scotland working with our great teams around the stations. My focus till the end of June is to continue to lead our central Scotland radio stations, including our flagship Radio Clyde and work closely with Graham to ensure a smooth handover."
Graham began his career with KPMG in London and then spent ten years at Capital Radio plc where, prior to the merger with GWR, he was Managing Director of Xfm, Choice FM and Capital Gold.
