New jingles for Classic FM

Global Radio’s Classic FM has commissioned a major new imaging package from the acclaimed film and TV composer Hugo de Chaire.

The new sonic package – the station’s first in more than five years – includes a new title jingle and theme tunes for its flagship programming. The commission coincides with the appointment of Liverpool poet Roger McGough as Classic FM’s new station voice.
De Chaire, who studied with Emmy Award-winning Hollywood composer Hummie Mann, has composed for film, TV and radio in both America and Europe. He was the composer for the BBC TV series Face The Music and Never Mind The Full Stop.
McGough has previously presented programmes on the national network, including a documentary looking at Liverpool’s contribution to this country’s musical heritage during the city’s tenure as European Capital of Culture in 2008.
Speaking about new station sound, Darren Henley, Managing Director of Classic FM said: “The new sonic package captures the very essence of Classic FM, delivering a sound that’s accessible, whilst firmly rooted in classical music.”
Hugo de Chaire commented: “The opportunity to compose music for Classic FM, a station that broadcasts some of the best music ever written, has not only been a privilege but has been a challenging and exciting experience.”
