BBC Newcastle shoots, scores!

Former Sunderland striker Marco Gabbiadini and former Newcastle defender Steve Howey are both to join BBC Newcastle for the new weeknight sports show, Total Sport.

The show will bring the latest news and views from a range of sports in the region and be hosted by Simon Pryde with specialist contributors Gabbiadini and Howey.

BBC Newcastle’s Assistant Editor, Doug Morris, said: “I’m proud to welcome two great local sporting heroes to our fantastic line up and look forward to offering an entertaining and trusted sports show to our fellow sports fans – whatever their game”.

Total Sport runs weeknights from 5.30 – 7.30pm on 95.4FM. The first programme will air on Monday, 10th August, after the first match of Newcastle United's Championship season.
