106.6 Smooth Radio has appointed Kevin Howard as its new Programme Controller; he takes up his position on 28 July. Kevin joins the East Midlands from Smooth Radio’s sister station in the North East.
This new role will see Kevin responsible for the on-air output of the station including music, talent management and commercial activity, and will report in to Station Director, Sam Fielding.
Kevin has previously spent six years at UTV Radio as its Regional Programme Director before joining GMG Radio in September 2007.
GMG Radio’s Group Programme Director John Simons said: “With the current changes in the radio market within the East Midlands, I feel that with Kevin’s level of experience he is definitely the right man to drive us ahead”
Kevin added: “I am really looking forward to joining the team in the East Midlands and taking up this new role in a great part of the country. I’ve had a great couple of years in the North East and will miss the team, but a new challenge now lies ahead”.
