Ricky replaces Moose at Rock

Ricky Kirby is to replace The Moose as Head of Presentation at Rock Radio in Manchester.

Ricky, who has been Programme Controller at 2BR for the last four years, will also host the weekday midday show when he joins next week.
As a Rock Music fan Ricky’s career has seen him hosting Rock music shows at Radio Hallam in Sheffield, Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton and more recently Red Rose Radio in Preston before he joined Burnley’s 2BR.

Ricky said of joining Rock Radio Manchester; “This is a dream come true for me.  I get to play three hours of fantastic rock music each day…. and get paid for doing it!  Rock Radio’s a station for anyone who loves rock music, we’ve been on air for just over a year and the station’s got off to a terrific start and I’m really looking forward to taking it to even greater heights!

Andy Carter, managing director of GMG Radio in Manchester added; “Ricky is a great addition to the Rock Radio team. His musical knowledge, leadership skills and big deep voice mean he’s the ideal person to host our midday show and lead the Rock Radio team: I’m delighted to have him on board”
The Moose, aka Hugh Evans, has returned with his family to Canada and can now be found on a new Vancover station, Shore 104.
