Bath FM holed below the waterline

South West Radio (SWR) has gone into administration placing the future of the five stations it owns – Quaywest, BCR, 3TR, Bath FM and Brunel FM – into serious doubt.

The Bath Chronicle has reported that insolvency practitioners Kirk Hills are looking for a buyer in order to safeguard the stations’ futures.
The Exeter based SWR is owned by businessman John Roberts and run by his son Paul Roberts. John's wife, Michelle Roberts, also owns Midwest Radio but it is understood that this is not affected by the demise of SWR.
Bath FM lost its breakfast presenter Ian 'Knocker' Dore in acrimonious circumstances after Mr Roberts took over ownership of the station and it was criticised by Ofcom for failing to adhere to the media regulator’s Code.
David Kirk of Kirk Hills, said his priority was to keep the stations trading and safeguard the jobs of the current employees.
