Jazz FM goes fully mobile

Just a week after Jazz FM launched an iPhone app, the station announces plans to makes itself available on more platforms.

The digital station will launch on Google's Android phones shortly, followed by availability via Nokia and Blackberry phones.
The launch on the iPhone platform also made Jazz FM appear on the front page of the iTunes Store as a recommended download. The app will work via a Wi-Fi, 3G or GPRS connection and is free to download and use.
Jazz FM follows other UK broadcasters such as Global Radio, NME and Absolute Radio. Bauer Radio, GMG Radio and the BBC are yet to enter the streaming market, although Rock Radio has launched a "News Reader", making the station's rock news and twitter feed available via an app.
