Lite Connect merger costs jobs

Lite FM and Connect FM owner Adventure Radio has made three of its staff members redundant, two of which are believed to be presenters.

They were told the news yesterday, and today managing director Kevin Snowdon told the Peterborough Telegraph it was due to a lack of advertising and the merger with another radio station.
He said: "Unfortunately, because of the merger, the positions have been made redundant, and it's unfortunate that it affects people's lives, but that's the nature of business mergers and the current climate.
"The only differences that our listeners will notice will be the improvements that we plan to make."
When requesting the format change last month, Mark Jeeves, Managing Director of Lite FM and Connect FM told Ofcom each station would retain its separate and individual identity, with bespoke local news, and local content.
