Xfm – Oasis’ silver lining

Just as Oasis fall on their sword, the band has scooped Xfm’s World’s Best Song Of All Time. The Mancunians dominated the poll’s top ten with three of their songs making the cut.

Live Forever claimed the top spot with Don’t Look Back In Anger in at three and a Wonderwall’ at number four. Other bands in the top ten included Joy Division, The Verve and The Stone Roses.

Xfm teamed up with radio stations from around the world including KROQ (Los Angeles) and Triple J (Sydney) to compile the chart and guarantee its international flavour.

Mike Walsh, Head of Music for The Xfm Network said: “Good to see Xfm listeners voting, yet again, with great taste, and also our friends in Sydney and California listening to Triple J and KROQ.”
