Absolute Radio ready to dabbl

Absolute Radio is extending its portfollio this evening with the launch of a new digital only radio station – dabbl.
The service is part of the new One Golden Square Labs, a digital working group set up at Absolute Radio to develop conceptual standalone digital propositions.

Absolute Radio says dabbl will be produced using a new and innovative mechanic of music programming – the innovative platform which sees listeners directly choose the music based on a vote system.
The station will focus initially on live music programming during it’s beta phase aimed at a broad adult market including live sessions, live stage sets and classic live recordings – recorded both at the station’s studios and at a number of live events that Absolute Radio has broadcast from across the summer including V Festival, The Isle of Wight Festival, Hard Rock Calling, sessions at Abbey Road and the station’s famous Zoo Sessions and iconic moments in music history such as Woodstock and The Rolling Stones Licks Tour.
dabbl will broadcast from 7pm – 7am on DAB and online at dabbl.co.uk during the beta phase, using space previous taken by Virgin Groove.
One Golden Square Labs will also be looking to develop applications for the web and new and emerging platforms including wi-fi radio, next generation DAB with integrated internet and social media with an open-source approach. It will actively encourage involvement from the digital community.
