Adderley collapses live on air

BBC Radio 5 Live's Sport Extra station went silent during live commentary of West Ham v Fulham at the weekend as commentator Nigel Adderly collapsed on-air.

The incident was noted on various internet message boards, saying they heard groaning, crowd noises and someone pleading for help.

It happened around 4:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Nigel was treated by St John's Ambulance medics at the football ground before being taken to hospital.

BBC Radio 5 Live later announced on the 606 phone-in, that the 37 year old had suffered a bad turn but was recovering.
