US radio station fined £10m

The family of an American woman who Held Her Wee for a Wii has received almost £10million in compensation.
The Wii was a competition prize offered by Sacramento radio station KDND-FM, for a promotion which took place in January 2007.

A California court found the station and its owner liable for her death a few hours after the [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.1514]competition[/link] finished. She died of acute water intoxication.
The radio station said the contestant, mother of three Jennifer Strange, should have known the contest might be dangerous.
KDND, also known as The End, sacked 10 employees because of the stunt.
