BBC Radio 2 heralds new dawn

Sarah Kennedy’s Radio 2 show shifts an hour earlier as the network’s morning schedule undergoes changes as Chris Evans begins his stint as presenter of The Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

As well as Kennedy now airing from 5-7am, Janice Long enters the studio at midnight and stays there until 2am and is then followed by Alex Lester who stays on air for the following three hours.

Bob Shennan, Controller, Radio 2 and 6 Music, said: "The Radio 2 morning schedule is crucial to the network's success and I'm delighted that Sarah, who has been a lynchpin of the morning schedule for many years, will continue to entertain her listeners every weekday."

On Sundays from 14 February 2010, Terry Wogan will broadcast live from the Radio Theatre, Broadcasting House, with a two-hour show featuring live musical performances and guests between 11am to 1pm.
