Phil Trow joins BBC Radio Derby

BBC Radio Lancashire presenter Phil Trow is joining BBC Radio Derby on 6th April to host the weekday breakfast show.

Phil has spent most of his broadcasting career in the North West of England, including 15 years at BBC Radio Manchester.

He has been presenting various programmes for the station over the last few months but will now take over from the long running Colin Bloomfield show.

He joined BBC GMR (later BBC Radio Manchester) in 1990 and was on air when the IRA's bomb devastated central Manchester. Phil was also a regular presenter on the BBC North West Children in Need TV show.

He says: "I'm thrilled to get such an exciting opportunity at an award-winning station. I've really felt at home here since I first joined in September and can't wait to get started.

"I was re-named Phil Snow when I sat in on the Breakfast Show during the bad weather at the start of the year – I'm hoping for slightly better weather conditions this time!"
