Rolling Stone joins Absolute

Absolute Radio has signed the legendary Ronnie Wood as a presenter on Absolute Classic Rock.

The Ronnie Wood Show will be a Somethin' Else production for the digital station, with Ronnie choosing his playlist and telling stories from his vast career in music.

Absolute Classic Rock has this week re-launched, branding itself the home of The Great British Guarantee and celebrating the wealth of classic British rock songs from the likes of The Who, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.

The new show starts on April 9th and will be broadcast on Absolute Classic Rock every Friday night at 6pm, then again on Saturday night at 10pm on Absolute Radio. The show will also be syndicated in Japan and Canada.

Absolute's Content Director, Tony Moorey, said: "Think fantastic music, and one man and his guitar in your living room, but that man being one of rock's gods, Ronnie Wood. It's not often that we have a genuine opportunity to strike a radio relationship with a rock legend….The Ronnie Wood Show is that opportunity."
