Big interviews for Bolton FM

Community radio station Bolton FM is to hold debates with each of the main political party leaders before May 6th.

Bolton FM says the interviews will be similar in nature to the Leaders’ Debates being planned for television this evening.

UKIP and the Green Party are also fielding candidates and the station will hear policy ideas from their hopefuls too.

Bolton FM Station Manager Kevan Williams, who’ll be in the presenter’s chair to host the debates, is relishing the coming weeks. He said: “The general election on the 6th May is forecast to be the closest contest for some time. The opportunity to question candidates on both local and national issues is particularly exciting for me and a major step forward for Bolton FM.”

Programme Manager Carl Hartley said: “This is the most interesting election in years and the eyes of the nation are on Bolton. It’s only right that as the truly local radio station for Bolton, we quiz those candidates aspiring to represent the town at Westminster and give our listeners the chance to make an informed decision about who they want to be their next MP.”
