Stephen Merchant and Jimi Mistry will count down all time favourite movie songs on Magic this weekend.
The ‘Magic at the Movies’ show on Monday at 10am will reveal the top 40 songs from a Magic 105.4 poll. Magic TV will replicate the countdown with the videos from 2pm.
Pete Simmons, Programming Director at Magic 105.4 said: “Music from the movies has generated some of the best loved songs on the Magic 105.4 playlist so it seemed about time we did an official chart. We are thrilled to have two truly great movie stars in the studio presenting the countdown and we are sure it will offer a great soundtrack to our listeners enjoying the bank holiday weekend.”
The overwhelming winner was Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On as the best film soundtrack of all time, from a poll of over 2,000 respondents.
In second place was Take That’s Rule the World, which appeared in Stardust, and Aerosmith’s I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing, the hit soundtrack to Armageddon, came third.
Stephen and Jimi were united in their favourite, but Ray Parker Jnr only made it to number 11 in the chart. Stephen told Magic: “It has to be Ghostbusters. … It evokes fond memories of childhood.”
