£300k raised by Cork’s 96FM

Cork's 96FM has raised £300,000 for charity in its annual Radiothon – an outside broadcast from local hospitals.

The three day event was broadcast live from a special studio at the Mercy University Hospital with live inserts from a second team based at Cork University Hospital.

366,000 euro (£307,664) will go towards equipment and facilities in the Children’s Wards at both hospitals.

Chief Executive of Cork’s 96FM and sister station C103, Kieran McGeary said “The Cork’s 96FM Cork 4 Kids Radiothon is now firmly established as a key annual event. Hearing stories from parents and seeing first hand the hard work of the care staff in our local hospitals is really humbling.
