Bauer Media is extending its Upfront List next month to include digital radio stations heat, The Hits and Smash Hits.
The Upfront List is a playlist of up-and-coming releases, aiming to introduce listeners to new tracks from emerging or established artists.
The Upfront List has featured artists such as Diana Vickers, Train, Joshua Radin, Keane ft K'Naan, B.o.B ft Bruno Mars – and to date all Upfront tracks have made the UK Top 20 Airplay and Sales chart .
Ric Blaxill, Head of Music for the Big City Network, explains: “Adding a greater variety to our established playlists and introducing upfront releases, provides artists and groups with support and a direct route to a massive audience. It's also proof that a wide selection of music genres works across our influential local radio stations helping make our output more distinct against the competition.”
The Upfront List is reviewed and refreshed on an on-going basis by Ric and a Station Programmer. Bauer will publish two lists – Big City Upfront and Bauer Digital Upfront. This allows for variance when a Big City track may not fit the younger demographic of the Digital Stations. Most weeks, however, the lists will be the same.
