All change on the South Coast

It's a sad day for radio listeners along the south coast of England as no less than five radio stations are closing or have closed.

Friday was the last day of broadcasting for services previously known as 2CR, Ocean FM, The Quay, Win 107.2 and The Saint.

Services once known as 2CR and Ocean have been broadcasting as Heart for a while, but the services have now merge to create one of the larger Heart stations, Heart South Coast, owned by Global Radio.

Also, the two Play Radio stations in Southampton and Winchester ended programmes at midday Friday, and will join The Quay in Portsmouth to create one station, The Breeze, which launched officially at 6am Saturday.

The Breeze is owned by Celador Radio Broadcasting and will share broadcasting facilities at The Coast in Southampton.
