Heart’s Blunt gig in the sky

Heart and RSA Insurance has taken James Blunt to the sky to break a Guinness World Record.

The highest ever live music concert took place at 42,000ft on a Heart branded Boeing 767 with 150 Heart listeners enjoying a two hour round trip from London Stansted, with a 20 minute gig from James.

An official from the Guinness World Records was on board to verify the result which overthrows Jamiroquai from their gig at 35,000ft in 2007.

Richard Park, Director of Broadcasting for Global Radio, said: “We’re proud to deliver the best possible experiences for our listeners, such as our Love Music Live events with Enrique Iglesias and Robbie Williams. We aimed even higher with our Gig in the Sky and thanks to James Blunt, we’re holders of a new Guinness World Record. For Heart, the sky is no longer the limit!”

Clare Sheikh, RSA Group Strategy, Customer & Marketing Director said: "It's fantastic to be able to smash a world record in our 300th year and even more exciting that we're doing it with Heart with who we continue to enjoy a really successful partnership."
