Moyles signs new deal

Chris Moyles has signed for a further 12 months of the Radio 1 breakfast show.

The DJ told his 550,000 Twitter followers that he was going for a drink after sorting his new deal, confirming another year of early starts.

Moyles started on the flagship show back in 2004 and had an audience of 7.9m weekly listeners in May’s RAJAR results.

The 36 year old is the longest serving breakfast show host in Radio 1 history. He has had to settle for a 20 percent pay cut as part of a BBC cost cutting exercise, which brings his salary down to £494,000 a year.
