Absolute 90s to test nationally

Absolute Radio 90s is to broadcast a five week test transmission, aimed at raising awareness and expand the reach of the station, on the national D1 multiplex platform.

The trial period starts Wednesday 25th August and lasts until 30th September 2010.

This will be Absolute Radio’s 4th service available on DAB nationally, the most of any radio group. Absolute Radio, Absolute 80s and Absolute Radio Extra are already carried across the UK.

Commenting on the launch, Absolute Radio Chief Executive Donnach O’Driscoll said, “We believe in a digital future for radio in the UK. This trial will expand the reach of Absolute Radio 90s’ reach and give consumers ever more choice and the ability to listen to yet more unique, premium content digitally.”

The station is currently available on DAB in London, Bristol, Essex, Newbury, Reading and Swindon, on Sky TV channel 0203 and online. The station will also soon begin broadcasting on the Cardiff multiplex, replacing dabbl.
