Absolute’s streaming boost

Absolute Radio have revealed that their streaming hours hit the 11m mark in July – a 31 percent increase on June.

Listeners of stations in the Absolute Radio Network streamed 8.9m hours of live audio in July, while 244,000 hours were streamed via mobile.

Almost 3m on-demand hours were listened to via IP-connected devices, up 14% from June. The network also saw a record number of podcast downloads for the month, taking the total to 3,854,000.

These on-demand figures cover all audio and video content available online through downloaded podcasts, audio clips, live sessions and videos, both on Absolute Radio and third-party sites.

Earlier this month, Absolute Radio launched its 15th iPhone app, dedicated to the Iain Lee show. Users can download his podcasts and stream the show from their mobiles, as well as interact with the show using contact facilities.
