Kerrang daytime goes all female
Kerrang! Radio has introduced a new schedule, giving the Birmingham station a female heavy line-up from 11am to 7pm. Former Q Radio host Danielle Perry gets daytime from 11am till 3pm, and ex-Big Brother winner Kate Lawler is on drive.
Super deal for Yorkshire Radio
Digital sports station Yorkshire Radio has re-signed with the Rugby Football League to do live commentary on the Super League for next season. Cinema trip for Kermode n Mayo
Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode are taking their popular Friday afternoon Film Review show on BBC Radio 5 Llive on the road to help relaunch a London cinema. They'll also take questions from the live audience next Friday at the Phoenix Cinema in Finchley.
Introducing… brand for BBC locals
The BBC's 'Introducing…' brand is to be rolled out across 40 of the corporation's local radio stations. The move will see new music talent promoted across the English regions in addition to through networks including Radio 1 and 6 Music and the BBC website.
Parfitt backs Moyles' ranting
BBC Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt today supported Chris Moyles following his half-hour on-air rant about pay last week. He said Moyles didn't crossed but admitted it wasn't the best Chris Moyles programme he's ever heard.
New marketing plan for Smooth
As Smooth Radio makes the move from regional to national, owners GMG Radio have released details of a new marketing campaign for the station. The new television and billboard advertising will feature listeners – dubbed the Smooth Ambassadors – who reflect the station's outlook on music and "zest for life".
Blackburn leaves Smooth Radio
Tony Blackburn will leave Smooth Radio once he takes up his new regular weekly programme on BBC Radio 2, RadioToday.co.uk can reveal. The BBC has instructed Tony to part company with GMG Radio in order to present Pick of the Pops each weekend.
Real top job for Billy Anderson
GMG Radio have appointed Billy Anderson as Managing Director of their Real Radio and Rock Radio brands. Billy will start the role at the end of the year – he's currently the regional head of the group's stations in Scotland and the North East of England.

Former Signal Radio presenter Doug Wood is joining a Staffordshire community radio station on a permanent basis from tomorrow.
New PD and Deputy PD for Xfm
Andy Ashton is returning to Xfm as Programme Director, replacing Australia-bound Paul Jackson. In addition, Head of Music Mike Walsh has been appointed Deputy Programme Director at the Global Radio station, covering both London and Manchester on FM.
