Trevor Dann leaves the Academy

Trevor Dann is to leave the Radio Academy at the end of October after four years, to work on independent commissions for the BBC.

He will also join a university as a visiting professor, and take on a new management role with digital station Amazing Radio.

Trevor's becoming Managing Director of Amazing Broadcast, the division of Amazing Media which owns and operates Amazing Radio. He'll also continue to present programmes on Amazing Radio.

Dann told RadioToday.co.uk: "I've got the opportunity to work on lots of different and challenging projects, including working for the BBC, so it's about right time to leave the Academy.

"I wish them all the best for the future."

Before joining the Academy in September 2006, Trevor hosted the breakfast show at BBC Radio Cambridgeshire from 2002 to 2004 and famously, in the nineties, was Head of Radio Production at BBC Radio 1.

He will continue to host the weekly "RadioTalk" podcast and continue to be a member of the Academy.
