Trainer walk for Clyde’s Knoxy

Clyde 1's new drive-time presenter Knoxy's putting her best foot forward to support Scotland's Wear Your Trainers To Work Day.

She's swapping high heels for sports shoes today – and walking to work to promote a new campaign to get people more active.

'Wear Your Trainers to Work Day' is part of the build-up to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 and highlights the importance of doing 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week – and how it can be easily part of a normal working day.

Knoxy will be walking part of the way to Clyde's studios at Clydebank today and told us: "This is a great way to kick start getting active, particularly when it involves doing something which you can fit into your everyday routine. Staying active is really important to me – it’s great for my health and makes me feel good – and this will get me thinking about walking to work more regularly."

Wear your Trainers to Work Day is timed to coincide with the flag handover of the Commonwealth Games from Delhi to Scotland today (14 October 2010).

Bauer Radio are backing the campaign, encouraging people to wear trainers to work and donate £1 to their charity, Cash for Kids.
