Revenue up at UBC Media Group

UBC has reported an overall increase in revenue for the last six months, with profits for the period doubling from 0.27 to 0.62 million pounds.

The company is also in a good position for investment and acquisition, says Chief Executive Simon Cole.

Revenues from BBC programming has dropped slightly, at £0.99m, compared with £1.09m in 2009. Digital video content has grown, and long term digital radio liabilities have been removed in settlements with Bauer and MXR.

Simon Cole: "I am pleased that our rise in turnover is fuelled by an increase of business in the areas that we have identified as key for growth. It is particularly encouraging that in this period we have a new Digital Video client in Sky Arts and that our investment in mobile 'apps' is beginning to bear fruit. Growth will entail investment and acquisition and our strong balance sheet enables us to do both."
