Absolute Radio says the number of downloads of their podcasts in 2010 has quadrupled year on year to 25 million – and the year's not over yet.
Comedian Frank Skinner tops their chart of most downloaded shows, with 6.5 million.
The 25 million total is up 431% from 2009 which saw 5.8 million podcasts downloaded for the station. This figure was passed in May 2010 and Absolute Radio anticipates more than 30 million downloads for the entire year 2010.
Dave Gorman and Iain Lee's shows come in second and third on the Absolute download chart, with around 3m downloads each this year so far.
In the 18 months since the comedian and TV broadcaster moved into regular radio, Frank's seen the size of the live audience increase too, with his Saturday breakfast slot now at its highest RAJAR figures in two and a half years. Frank also won silver in the Best Entertainment Programme at this year’s Sony Awards.
Absolute Radio will be airing two 'Best of' shows featuring Skinner over the festive period – A Christmas Day Special and a New Years Day Special.
