Garrison launches 9th station

Garrison Radio have added a ninth station to their network, broadcasting to the home of the Defence School of Transport in East Yorkshire.

The service on 87.7FM at Leconfield was launched by Garrison's Managing Director Mark Page who hosted an hour-long special programme with TV presenter Jeremy Kyle.

The former Capital and Absolute Radio presenter turned talk show host is currently making a TV documentary at the Army base. Jezza and Mark were joined by a series of guests to give an insight into what part Leconfield plays within the British Army and Defence.

Mark Page told RadioToday.co.uk: "This addition to the network is a further demonstration of the want for Garrison FM's output to all those connected with the army. It also shows that Garrison Radio has the resources and talent to provide a relevant and professional output. This further cements Garrison Radio as a serious contender for the 'Future Forces Broadcasting' contract from 2013."

Now in its ninth year, Garrison Radio broadcasts to Aldershot, Catterick, Colchester, Edinburgh and Salisbury Plain on FM frequencies, and Bassingbourn, Glencorse and Wattisham on 1287AM.
