Ian Collins' Late Show made a trending topic on Twitter last week after the talk show host was unable to reach the studio to present his show.
Instead, Ian decided to tweet his links whilst stand-in host Duncan Barkes read them out and interacted with other Twitter users.
The station is claiming a world record – the first ever simulcast or simultaneous broadcast between radio and Twitter. The hash tag #thelateshow started trending during the show.
As well as sharing experiences of getting about in the snow, photos of bad conditions, video clips and pictures, listeners/tweeters made contributions to the other discussions happening on air and tweeted about drink-driving, the Birmingham vs Aston Villa game, and employment law.
talkSPORT said many listeners and tweeters are asking for #thelatesnow experience to be repeated, saying: “It was a bona fide twitter phenomenon. Do it again!” and: “Totally interactive radio. Just brilliant.”
