Real Wales gives away free ads

Real Radio Wales has celebrated its move to a national station by giving away two free airtime campaigns.

The prizes – worth £5,000 each – were handed out at special launch events held in Wrexham and Cardiff for businesses and organisations.

Joann Rae Marketing officer for Theatre Colwyn and Frank Addy, from Ty Hafan the children’s hospice, claimed their prizes after becoming the ‘last woman/man standing’ in a Hit or Miss competition which tested the musical knowledge of attendees.

Rivalry ensued as senior executives from companies across north and south Wales battled it out by declaring whether they thought chosen songs were a Hit (reached number 1) or a Miss.

At the Wrexham launch it was 'showtime' for Joann Rae Marketing officer for Theatre Colwyn, in Colwyn Bay who’s newly refurbished venue will benefit from the free on-air marketing campaign. While Frank Addy from charity Ty Hafan was delighted with the same prize after winning the Cardiff competition.

Station Director Tony Dowling told RadioToday.co.uk: "We were delighted with the results from both events, it's always great to meet up and chat with new and existing clients in a relaxed environment. The feedback was very positive and everyone really understood the brand and what a powerful part of their marketing budget we will be."

"The ‘Hit or Miss’ competition was great fun and everyone really entered into the spirit of it," he added. "They say there is no such thing as a free lunch but there is clearly such a thing as a free breakfast! Congratulations to both Theatre Colwyn and Ty Hafan on their wins, we are delighted to have them on Real Radio."
