Aire launches £30k wedding

Bauer's Leeds station Radio Aire is celebrating its upcoming 30th birthday with a £30,000 wedding giveaway.

The station says next month is wedding month – with 30 local brides-to-be being challenged to raise as much money for charity as they can in five days to win the wedding of a lifetime.

In aid of Radio Aire’s charity Cash for Kids, the bride who raises the most money will win her dream wedding – everything from the flowers and the dress to the cake and the honeymoon.

They have to register online, with 30 selected at random to start fundraising for five days from 28th March.

Carly Scott, the station's Marketing Manager, told us: "96.3 Radio Aire are all about giving our listeners unique and or money can’t buy experiences and we wanted to give local brides the chance to win a wedding that could rival the Royal Wedding and couldn’t think of a better way than to challenge them to raise money for Cash for Kids. We’re looking forward to seeing what fundraising initiatives the brides will come up with; who knows what a girl will do in the name of love – and charity!"

Radio Aire launched on 1 September 1981 – after a summer that had seen the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana.
