Midlands DAB station shuts

A digital radio station has closed due to lack of funds.

AsianFx, which previously broadcast to the West Midlands on DAB, shut down on Friday after almost two years on-air.

A spokesperson for Asian Fx told [link=http://media247.co.uk/bizasia/newsarchive/2011/02/asian_fx_to_clo.php]BizAsia.co.uk[/link]; "It is difficult to sustain a service on DAB in the current financial climate considering we launched Asian Fx just as the recession started, thank you everyone who supported the station and who knows when things get better Asian Fx name may return in broadcasting perhaps in a visual format."

The company behind AsianFx will now concentrate on Panjab Radio, which will shortly expand to North East England.
