The organisers of this year's Sony Radio Academy Awards have opened the entries for the Rising Star Award 2011.
Stations are invited to nominate on-air talent who have been broadcasting for no more than 18 months.
Nominations close on Wednesday 2nd March – to be eligible, the person you nominate has to have done their first on air shift between 1st September 2009 and 28th February 2011.
Former Pulp front man turned successful solo star and Radio DJ, Jarvis Cocker was crowned the Sony DAB ‘Rising Star’ Award winner 2010. The award supports talent regardless of whether showcased on local community radio or on a high-profile radio station.
Nominations for this year's main Sony Award categories will be announced on 30th March, along with the shortlist for the Rising Star Award. All of the awards will be given out at the main event in London on Monday 9th May.
