Tributes paid to John Taynton

Former BRMB jock and BBC WM Late Show presenter John Taynton has died at the age of 66 after a two year battle with cancer.

His last show for the station was in 1996 but returned last year to celebrate WM's 40th birthday.

Attending the anniversary celebrations, John said:"We had terrific response from listeners. What is really surprising is that I still get, and this is years after my last broadcast for the BBC, I still get emails and things on facebook from people who remember."

Former WM colleague Ed Doolan [link=]told[/link] the BBC Taynton was as “an extremely good broadcaster”.

John passed away in hospital on Friday, 11 February 2011.
