Cool FM hands £100k to charity
Bauer Radio's Cool FM has handed over a cheque for £100,000 to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children through its Cash for Kids charity. The Northern Irish station says the money will help fund vital new equipment, give extra support to poorly youngsters and held pay for specialist research and training.

Totally 90s show goes to air
A new syndicated radio show playing nothing but music from the 1990s is getting ready to launch this weekend. Totally 90s is presented by former Radio 1, Capital and Atlantic 252 jock Gary King and will be airing on stations in the UK as well as mainland Europe, the Middle East and America.
Official launch for Radioplayer
For the first time, commercial radio and the BBC have joined together to launch an online radio player designed to promote the benefits of listening to the radio online. UK Radioplayer initially includes around 150 stations but more will follow in the coming weeks.
R4 and Absolute lead Sony noms
Radio 4 has received 22 nominations for this year's main Sony Radio Academy Awards – more than any other station – with Absolute Radio getting 15 and leading the commercial radio shortlisted entrants. BBC Bristol presenter found
Missing BBC Radio Bristol presenter Peter Rowell has been found safe and well in Cumbria, more than 24 hours after he failed to turn up for his show. 52-year old Peter – who was on GWR in the 80s – was reported to be depressed after the death of his father.
Sony Award Nominations 2011
Here's the full list of nominations in each of the categories for the Sony Radio Awards 2011, as announced in London yesterday evening. The winners will be announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Monday 9 May.

Three Counties' Ian Pearce dies
Long-serving BBC Three Counties Radio presenter and football commentator Ian Pearce has died at the age of 56. He passed away suddenly at his home yesterday and was best known for his coverage of Luton Town FC.
