Cricketer Flintoff for 5 Live

Former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff is joining BBC Radio 5 Live to present a new sports show this summer.

He'll host 'Freddie's World of Sport' on the station on Thursday nights from the end of May until August.

The show will be co-presented by 5 Live presenter Mark Chapman and we're told it will feature Flintoff's 'entertaining and insightful views on the issues and personalities across the world of sport', along with big name guests, celebrity interviews and all the latest sports news and gossip.

Commenting on his new programme, Andrew Flintoff said: I’ve always been a fan of sport on the radio and can’t wait to get started on Freddie’s World of Sport. We'll be talking to the biggest names in sport and getting the inside track on what’s happening across the summer’s sporting action."

Radio 5 live Deputy Controller Jonathan Wall adds: "We think Andrew's a really exciting addition to the 5 live line-up. We love his enthusiasm for the new show and are delighted that he’s chosen to start his live radio broadcasting career with 5 live."

As well as cricket's England v India test series, the programme will also cover events like the tennis at Wimbledon and the Open Golf.
