Garrison broadcasts Army v RAF

Garrison Radio isn’t normally a station where you’d expect to hear live football commentary – but that all changes tonight.

The station is providing coverage of a match between the Army and the RAF at Aldershot’s EBB Stadium, which could be this year’s Inter Services title decider.

The fixture is the second in this season’s Senior Men’s Inter Services Tournament. The first match at Portsmouth saw the Army beat the Navy 1 – 0. If the Army beat the RAF on Wednesday it means they win the competition but, if the RAF, who are the current title holders, win or draw, it will go down to the last match between the RAF and the Navy on March 23rd.

Garrison’s commentary will air on their FM service as well as being streamed on both the army and RAF websites. The station has signed up former Capital Radio Group Sports Editor and Five Live commentator Peter Hood to take to the mic alongside ex-England midfielder David Armstrong.
