Bauer Radio has three nominations in the 'Regional Radio Station of the Year' category at the 2011 Music Week Awards.
Radio City, Wave 105 and Moray Firth Radio are shortlisted against Oxford's Glide FM and GMG's Real Radio.
GMG have another nomination too – for Smooth Radio, which despite only going national six months ago, is nominated in the National Station of the Year category.
Smooth will compete against BBC stations 1Xtra, 6 Music and Radio 2 for the title as well as Global's Classic FM.
Richard Maddock, Station Director at Liverpool's Radio City told RadioToday.co.uk he was delighted to get the nomination for regional station of the year after recently being shortlisted for both the Sony Awards and the North West's 'How Do' Awards. "The MWAs are great to be recognised in as they are voted for and hosted by the music industry," he said. "They look for stations who are best serving their markets in all areas of entertainment and also recognise stations that do their best to promote music, local acts, sessions, interviews and live events."
The awards will be presented on 24 May at The Roundhouse in Camden.
