Wave presenter goes abseiling

Wave 105 presenter Simon Clarke is doing ‘Man-up Month’ as part of Wave 105 Cash for Kids Month to raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust.

His challenges include abseiling down a local landmark in Portsmouth.

He had to launch the month-long activity by climbing down the 300ft Spinnaker Tower along with Wave 105 newsreader Shaun Aquilina and two brave listeners.

Simon said “it was a terrifying but exhilarating experience – once I had stepped over the edge and trusted that the rope would hold my weight for the abseil down the 300ft building, I really enjoyed it. I am now looking forward to taking part in the rest of the challenges the month has to offer and I hope to raise a significant amount for Teenage Cancer Trust.”

During Wave 105 Cash for Kids Month, listeners are invited to get involved to help the station raise the money needed to develop a specialised teenage cancer patient room at the Southampton General Hospital.
