Unique win second Radio 2 Saturday show

Independent production company Unique have won Radio 2’s commission to produce the Sounds of the Sixties programme on a Saturday morning.

They already produce Pick of the Pops on a Saturday lunchtime.

Unique will take over as makers of the show – hosted by Brian Matthew – from next month.

Simon Cole, Chief Executive of parent company UBC Media, told RadioToday.co.uk: “Sounds Of the Sixties is one of the cornerstones of the Radio 2 schedule and it is a real privilege to have been given the task of producing it for the network. With Pick Of The Pops on Saturday lunchtime and Sounds of the Sixties at breakfast, we have a tremendous double-act to work with.”
