Steve Jordan joins Yorkshire Coast Radio

UKRD station Yorkshire Coast Radio has announced Steve Jordan as their new breakfast presenter.

Steve – who is a regular voice on Asda FM Live and most recently was doing weekend overnights on the Real Radio network – will start on the Scarborough-based station next month.

He replaces Wes Stakes, who left the station on Friday after three years to take over mid-mornings on UTV’s Bradford station The Pulse.

Steve started out on air in the early 90s at Lincs FM and has since worked for stations including Viking FM, Magic 1161, Century 106, Leicester Sound and KCFM where he was the launch breakfast presenter.

He’ll start on Yorkshire Coast on 10th October. Managing Director Chris Sigsworth told RadioToday.co.uk: “I have admired Steve’s work for a long time and I am delighted that he will be joining the team at Yorkshire Coast Radio for our new Breakfast Show.”

Steve says: “I’m thrilled to be back on the radio at breakfast time, and working in an area I know extremely well, through previous work and in my leisure time. My very first school trip was to Whitby, where I cried on my first night due to being homesick; my parents used to take me to the Futurist in Scarborough to see the summer shows, I caught my first and only fish in Bridlington, and I once crashed my car in Filey. I’m certainly looking forward to becoming a local on the Yorkshire Coast and can’t wait to start work.”
