Radio City snap up Powers from rival

Bauer’s Radio City 96.7 has signed Anton Powers from rival Liverpool UTV station Juice FM.

He’ll host Friday and Saturday night shows on the station, and leaves Juice after a decade on air there.

Anton does club DJing and also runs record label 3 Beat who have already produced a host of number 1 singles, including the ‘current world wide smash’ by Sak Noel. His remixes under the guise of ‘Cahill’ have been demanded by some of the world’s biggest stars, including Lady Gaga, Leona Lewis & Cheryl Cole and he has DJ-ed at some of the biggest venues and festivals around the world, including playing infront of over 9,000 people at this year’s Creamfields event.

Anton – who joins Radio City from next month to do Friday nights midnight to 2am and Saturday nights 6-9pm – said: “Radio is my first love and I’m really looking forward to bringing the show over to Radio City 96.7. I grew up listening to the station and to become the new sound of Friday and Saturday nights in my home city is a dream come true.”

Station Director Richard Maddock said: “Anton already has legendary status in the city and in the industry. It is fantastic that he is joining Radio City 96.7 and he is yet another great signing for the station, illustrating our commitment to bringing in the best new young talent. The dance floor is about to get even busier every Friday and Saturday night!”
