Dave Berry gets 95.8 Capital FM breakfast

Capital FM weekend presenter Dave Berry will join Lisa Snowdon on the London station’s breakfast show from the New Year as replacement for Johnny Vaughan.

Vaughan left Capital last month after 8 years at the station when he was told his contract wouldn’t be renewed in January.

The news was announced live on air this morning. Stand-in presenter Greg Burns will continue to host Capital Breakfast in London with Lisa until the end of the year.

Berry moved to Capital in April this year after three years with sister station XFM where he presented Saturday afternoons, weekday drivetime and the breakfast show. Before that he spent a year on Capital London’s Saturday afternoon schedule.

He’s also well-known for his TV presenting work, starting out at MTV in 2002 and spending three years as the main host of its flagship TRL show. He still presents T4 on Channel 4, and has done CD:UK on ITV as well as shows for channels including BBC Three and Five.

Dave Berry said: “To be given the opportunity to wake up London every weekday morning is a dream come true on so many levels. I have an absolute passion for radio, I love this city and of course it’s no bad thing working alongside the gorgeous Lisa Snowdon. Bring it on.”

Richard Park, Global’s Director of Broadcasting told us: “Dave Berry is a massive radio talent, and has already proved himself a huge hit with Capital listeners. I am convinced that the chemistry between him and Lisa Snowdon will make for great radio and that the show will become a must listen for London every weekday morning.”
