JK and Lucy join Heart South Coast

Global Radio have announced JK and Lucy are to take over the breakfast show on Fareham-based Heart South Coast from next Monday.

JK has been one half of ‘JK and Joel’ for many years – and Lucy was most recently co-presenting Bauer’s network evening show ‘In Demand’ with Alex James.

‘JK & Lucy’ will be taking over the mic from Jules & Bunker who have been presenting Heart breakfast together for the last three years. Bunker will be staying at Heart to present his own Saturday morning show and Jules will be moving closer to her home in Hertfordshire.

Heart’s Programme Controller Simon Monk told RadioToday.co.uk: “We are thrilled to welcome two presenters of JK & Lucy’s calibre to the Heart family. Together, they will bring a fantastic sense of fun and showbiz to the brand new Heart Breakfast show, providing the perfect feel-good way to start the day. We know that our listeners across the South Coast will love them.”

JK & Lucy said: “We are both really excited to launch the new Heart Breakfast show and can’t wait to get started. It’s a really exciting opportunity for us – and to work on the South Coast is the icing on the cake! We look forward to getting to know all the Heart listeners and having lots of fun in the mornings. Join us bright and early from 6am!”

JK and Joel left Radio Aire last summer and as well as stints at Viking, Key 103 and Radio 1 are regular CBBC hosts.

Lucy started out at Trent FM after doing a Broadcast Journalism degree in the city, and co-presented with radio’s other Jason King (!) before teaming up with Rich Clarke on the evening show that later became In:Demand.

Heart South Coast is the station formed in 2010 by the merging of the former Heart Hampshire (was Ocean FM) and Heart Dorset/New Forest (was 2CR) stations.
